The USEA Annual Meeting featuring keynote speaker, Mary King, was the highlight of today’s activities at the Convention at the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO. Mary gave an inspirational speech on her pathway through her career including insights on sponsorship and competing at the Olympic Games this summer. Following her speech, USEA President, Brian Sabo, recapped the year in the Association and was followed by reports from other Board members that the USEA is in a very healthy place.

Lexington, KY- The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has seated three new eventing committees. The Eventing High Performance Committee and Eventing Selection Committee are both pending approval of the USEF Executive Committee. Day two at the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention in Colorado Springs, CO was probably as jam-packed with programs as it could be. The highlight of the day was the Year-End Awards Luncheon where USEA members were honored with a large variety of ribbons, prizes, and grants. The USEA Young Event Horse Committee is delighted to announce the Holekamp/Turner Young Event Horse Lion d’Angers Prize and Grant. This grant will award the highest scorer of the USEA Young Event Horse 5-year-old Championships with a cash prize that will enable them to travel to the FEI World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion d’Angers in France for the 7-year-old two-star Championships.Winners who are North American bred will be awarded with $17,500 to travel to Le Lion d’Angers while if the winner is an imported horse he will be awarded $8,000.

The first full day of the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention at the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO was packed full of committee meetings, seminars, and open forums that gave all USEA members the chance to learn, enjoy, and share with 300 of their fellow eventing enthusiasts. USEF Eventing Technical CommitteeThe USEF Eventing Technical Committee Meeting focused on two main issues in this morning’s open portion: modifying the one fall and out rule and the new FEI Qualifications.

Lexington, KY- Pending final FEI approval, the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North (NAJYRC) will once again be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. The annual competition will be held July 17-21, 2013. The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has received preliminary approval for these dates and location and is awaiting final allocation from the FEI Bureau.
