The FEI held a draw today (Tuesday, 2 November) to determine the order in which the three Presidential candidates will make their presentations at Thursday’s Meet the Candidates session in Taipei, the day before the Presidential election. Current FEI President HRH Princess Haya (JOR), who is seeking re-election for a second and final four-year term, will address delegates first, followed by Henk Rottinghuis (NED), with the current FEI First Vice President Sven Holmberg (SWE) drawn third in the order.

The FEI has today announced that all urine samples taken from athletes competing at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ have tested negative for prohibited substances.The announcement comes just one week after the FEI revealed that all equine blood and urine samples were also free of prohibited substances.

Gladstone, NJ - The Board of the Essex Trust is proud to announce Ashley Kehoe of Purcellville, VA as the recipient of the Essex Grant; an award in the amount of $5,000.  The Essex Trust is a charitable (501c3) fund initiated by the Trustees of the Essex Horse Trials to further the sport of Eventing both through grants to improve the horsemanship of young riders, and to the organizations which lend support and volunteers to Three Day Event competitions.  The Essex Horse Trials was one of the most prestigious Three Day Events held at the USET's Hamilton Farm in Gladstone, NJ.

Back by popular demand, the Richard Jeffery Show Jumping seminar will once again be offered at the USEA Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona on Wednesday, December 8, 2010.  The day will begin at 10:00 AM with discussion about designing show jumping courses with special emphasis on the lower levels.  Participants will then help build a show jumping course and then watch as horses and riders navigate it.

Sadly, Jennifer Simmons’ horse J.B.’s Star was euthanized on October 16 after sustaining a fracture to his right humerus after a fall at Fence 17 on the cross-country course at the Fair Hill CCI3*. Both Simmons and “JB” were attended to immediately by the medical staff, and the horse was transported to New Bolton Medical Center in Kennett Square, PA.Simmons was transported to the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE to undergo testing, but was later released today.

Over 200 riders from across the country competed in eight elite events that comprised the 2010 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series. Although they didn’t win any of the individual events in 2010, consistent placings and double clear rounds made Jennifer Wooten-Dafoe and Daisy Tognazzini’s The Good Witch the winners of the 2010 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series and $10,000 richer.
