In 1984, Bruce Davidson was awarded the Windy Acre Farm Trophy for Rider of the Year for the second year in a row, following a successful eventing season in 1983 on Pilot Kid, J.J. Babu, and Dr. Peaches. At that point in his career, he had won Burghley and the World Championships twice, and had been riding for the USET for over a decade. The award was made doubly special because a horse that he produced and rode up through the levels, Pilot Kid, was awarded Horse of the Year as well.

At the 2014 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention, we bid farewell to two departing board members; Jonathan Holling and Mike Winter had both fulfilled their 6-year term on the USEA Board of Governors. But, after a fond sendoff, the membership welcomed two new board members: Morley Thompson, Jr. and Harold “Tink” Eichell. Additionally, Leslie Law will take over the VP of Active Athletes position from Holling.

On Saturday at the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention, the educational lectures, shopping, and meetings continued. USEA members convened for lunch to bid farewell to departing Board Members Jonathan Holling and Mike Winter, to honor individuals who have served the USEA and eventing for many years, and to listen to Leslie Law's keynote speech, which earned him a standing ovation from the crowd. The British Olympic gold medalist said that he believes the U.S.
