With just a hair over two months to go until the second annual USEA Intercollegiate Championship, schools up and down the east coast (and farther!) are buzzing with excitement. Held again at the Virginia Horse Trials May 25-28, Event Organizer Andy Bowles joins us on the podcast to share all the details of the championship and give us a preview of all the excitement the VHT team has planned. With horses circling, steward’s calling, and adrenaline pumping, it can be hard recalling all the proper etiquette, so it’s best to review before you head to the show! Attention all new USEA members who have registered and paid accounts through February 20, 2017. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, there has been an issue with the printing of membership cards. Because of this, you may not have yet received your membership packet, but all new member materials have been shipped and should arrive in the coming days. The United States Eventing Association, Inc. (USEA) is currently searching for qualified applicants for the position of Marketing Assistant OR Coordinator (depending on experience) at the Association’s headquarters in Leesburg, Virginia. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications, are encouraged to apply. Knowledge and experience with eventing and equestrian sport is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week was a whirlwind with USEA’s Instructors’ Certification Program (ICP), Future Event Horse Program (FEH) and Young Event Horse Program (YEH) teaming up to offer an ultimate educational symposium in Ocala, Fla. Legendary horseman Chris Ryan, who is known for sourcing some of the most successful event horses in the world like 2008 silver medalist Mckinlaigh, was the lead clinician for the FEH program, and Le Lion d’Angers champion Chris Burton was the lead clinician for the ICP and YEH groups.
