Conditions could not have been more perfect for the Adequan USEA Gold Cup and PRO Tour Series CIC3* cross-country at The Event at Rebecca Farm. Organizer Sarah Broussard and her father Jerome provided the horses with the best possible footing and a quality course courtesy of British course designer Ian Stark. The fences, built by one of the best course builders in the world, Bert Wood, were true works of art; most of them were carved out of a solid block of wood with a chain saw and no detail was missed.

The 2014 Adequan USEA Gold Cup and PRO Tour Series returned to the beautiful Event at Rebecca Farm in the Flathead Valley near Kalispell, Montana this week. Twenty-one horses entered the CIC3* and were turned out impeccably for the judges at the First Horse Inspection early in Thursday morning. They could be forgiven a few high jinx given the strong winds and the drop in temperatures between Wednesday and Thursday.  The competition for the Gold Cup and PRO Tour Series starts at 2:30 p.m.

It was a wet day of cross-country at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior Young Rider Championships on Saturday. A persistent light rain fell for most of the morning, but some riders came home more soaked than others as the Head of the Lake was a final soggy landing point for a number of riders. At the end of the CCI* (referred to at NAJYRC as the CH-J*), 13 of the 44 riders will not be continuing on with the competition, with several finishing the day at the water jump.
