Three extraordinary rule changes for eventing were just passed by the USEF Board of Directors. Five venues in the U.S. put in a bid to be the host of the next CCI4* competition – the second in the U.S. and only the seventh in the world. In January, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Board of Directors narrowed it down to two venues to host a new CCI4* eventing competition beginning in the autumn of 2019: Fair Hill and Great Meadow. The next step is for the USEF to announce their decision of which venue will be put forth to the FEI for final approval.

We catch up with Richard Jeffery who is the USEF Eventing Show Jumping Course Advisor about the new program for reviewing the show jumping courses at every FEI competition in the U.S. Course Designers will be asked to submit their courses as posted to Jeffery with all technical details (distance, time allowed, etc.) within five days of the competition.

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce it has partnered with equestrian data science company, EquiRatings, to implement the EquiRatings Quality Index (ERQI) at national level in the U.S.The partnership follows months of engagement between the parties which began immediately after the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. last December. EquiRatings will work with the USEA on developing data analysis and implementing their predictive analysis tool to measure and manage risk – the ERQI.
