The USEA is excited that The Maryland Horse Trials at Loch Moy Farm will be holding a Jump Chute Clinic on Thursday, July 16, 2015.  The clinic is open to horses of all ages, and handlers will be assisted in teaching their horses how to safely and effective free jump through a jump chute. A special invitation is extended to horses that are 3 years of age and are currently competing in the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) series.

The Charles Owen Technical Merit Award, which aims to recognize safe and effective cross-country riding at the Training level, will kick off the 2015 season this weekend at the Cosequin Stuart Horse Trials (NY) and Roebke’s Run Horse Trials (MN). Junior and adult amateur Training level riders entered will be vying for a chance to receive a Charles Owen Body Protector and helmet bag.

The USEA has spearheaded the effort for equine cardiovascular and pulmonary research with the development of the cardio study over five years ago. The research has now gone global with a study being run by a group of veterinarians affiliated to the University of Bern in Switzerland. In the interest of the familiarization for horses and handlers, the free jump evaluation through a jump chute for three-year-olds at the USEA Future Event Horse East Coast Championship is optional in 2015.
