Woodside Horse Trials is thrilled to roll out new enhancements to the cross-country course at the Horse Park at Woodside this summer. These changes focus on Beginner Novice through Training level riders who will enjoy entirely new cross-country tracks. The updated courses will wind down to the farthest water on the south side of the property as course builder Bert Wood and his team renovate the top water complex over the summer.

The popular Preliminary Challenge drew big crowds and nail-biting competition for the 10th consecutive year at The Spring Event at Woodside. Of the 41 pairs vying for their piece of the $15,000 purse, it was Preliminary Challenge debutants Jordan Linstedt and Kristen Stevenson who ultimately came out on top.Riders jumped in reverse order of standing Saturday evening and the anticipation was palpable as each pair carefully navigated Chris Barnard’s technical track. Rails were costly as less than five points separated the top ten in both the horse and rider division.

Riders were hunting every last point in Friday’s dressage phase at the $15,000 Preliminary Challenge. By day’s end at The Spring Event at Woodside, three leaders edged ahead: Jennifer Salinger in the rider division and James Alliston and Jordan Linstedt tied in the horse division.Jennifer Salinger took control of the Preliminary Challenge rider division aboard Isabella Dowen’s Lasse 73. The 17-year-old Oldenburg earned a 29.7 to edge to the top of the 25-entry class.

May 19, 2018 - The Woodside Preliminary Challenge is set to highlight the Event at Woodside, held May 25-28, 2018 for a 10th consecutive year. This highly-anticipated event, presented by Equine Insurance of California, CWD, Devoucoux, Professionals’ Choice, CARMA, and CANTER, invites the best Preliminary level horses and riders to go head to head for their chance at $15,000 in prize money.

James Alliston and Happenstance jumped clean around Ian Stark’s CIC3* cross-country course to claim the win in the Adequan USEA Gold Cup CIC3* at the Woodside International Horse Trials in Woodside, Calif. today. Just ten of the thirteen CIC3* pairs completed Stark’s course, and seven of those finished without jumping penalties.

Thirteen riders competed today in the Adequan USEA Gold Cup CIC3* division at the Woodside International Horse Trials in Woodside, Calif. as well as just one competitor in the Advanced division. The riders completed the dressage test this morning and tackled Michael Roy Curtis’ show jumping course beginning at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

The Adequan USEA Gold Cup CIC3* and Advanced divisions completed their dressage tests earlier this morning at the Woodside International Horse Trials in Woodside, California, and will show jump over Michael Roy Curtis’ course this evening at 5:00 p.m. The finale will take place on cross-country tomorrow morning.

Five 4-year-olds and eight 5-year-olds competed in the 2017 USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) West Coast Championship at Woodside International in Woodside, Calif. today. In YEH classes, the competition is based on three scores: conformation (15%), dressage (35%) and jumping (50%).

The 2017 Woodside International Horse Trials kicks off tomorrow in Woodside, California, with the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) West Coast Championships. The rest of the weekend will see competitors at the Beginner Novice through Advanced levels and in the CIC*, CIC2*, CIC3* divisions. Both the CIC3* and Advanced divisions at Woodside serve as qualifying division for the 2018 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series, which will culminate with the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Final at the 2018 American Eventing Championships at the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colorado.

The best of the west return to Woodside International Horse Trials, October 5-8, 2017, for the highly anticipated autumn competition at the pristine Horse Park at Woodside. Forty-nine international competitors, including 2008 Individual silver medalist Gina Miles, will contest the CIC*, CIC2* and CIC3* divisions alongside the 300 competitors entered at the Beginner Novice through Advanced levels.
