The FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) are fast approaching! The Area Young Rider programs are in full fundraising mode as they prepare for the trip to Kalispell, Montana, where this year’s FEI North American Youth Championships are being held in conjunction with The Event at Rebecca Farm, July 18-23, 2018.

US Equestrian (USEF) is pleased to announce that the FEI North American Childrens, Junior and Young Rider Championships have been rebranded the Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championships presented by Gotham North (NAYC) and will include numerous improvements versus prior years. The NAYC for eventing will be held in conjunction with The Event at Rebecca Farm (Kalispell, Mont.), an existing CCI one- two-, and three-star, as well as a CIC three-star, from July 18-22, 2018.

The USEA Area III Young Rider Program is currently accepting resumes/bids for the 2018-2020 competition years for Young Rider Summer Camp Trainers and North American Junior Championship (NAJC) and CICOY Nations Cup Coach. Job descriptions, terms, resume requirements for both positions are listed below. Final selection of these positions will be determined by approval from the Area III Council based on the recommendation from the hiring committee.

US Equestrian (USEF) is pleased to announce Old Salem Farm as the host site for the 2018 Dressage Adequan® FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North (NAJYRC), as well as the 2018 and 2019 Jumping Adequan® FEI North American Junior Children and Young Rider Championships (NAJChYRC) presented by Gotham North pending FEI approval. Rebecca Farm will host eventing, the NAJC and CICOY in 2018 and 2019, pending FEI approval.

Mallory Hogan and her 10-year-old Holsteiner mare, Clarissa Purisima aka "Clarissa," traveled to Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Mont. to represent Area VI in the Adequan/FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships. The pair earned individual bronze and team gold medals.

It was the scramble team of Area I/IV that took home the gold medal in the CICOY2* at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Mont. Finishing on a cumulative score of 198, the Area I/IV Team reached a whopping 17.8 lead over silver medal team, Area VII, who finished on a 215.8.

Chris Barnard’s show jumping course shook up the CH-J* leaderboard today at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Mont. In the end, Area VI came out on top as the 2017 NAJYRC CH-J* Champions after laying down a couple double clear rounds, cumulating a final team score of 161.6.

There was a moment of tension in the final veterinary inspection of the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships when overnight second-placed CH-J* horse, Indie, was sent to the hold box, but upon reinspection he was accepted and will move forward to show jumping with Sloane Pierpont representing Area II. Mojo (ridden by Sophie Tice) for Area VI was also sent to the hold box, but passed upon reinspection.

When overnight leaders, Area V, didn’t have their first two riders finish the cross-country course the field was wide open for the other six teams to move up the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships CH-J* leaderboard.

Team Canada held onto their lead in the Adequan/FEI North American Junior & Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) CICOY2* after cross-country today. Three of the four team riders jumped around clear with just a bit of time against them, and only one had trouble on course with jumping penalties, for a cumulative team score of 180.8.
