For the second year, Red Hills International Horse Trials in Tallahassee, Florida has generously allowed the USEA to host the Equine Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research Study over the weekend of March 10-13.
The preliminary phase of the Cardiovascular Study took place at the Plantation Field Horse Trials in October 2009 and other studies have taken place at Fair Hill International and Rolex Kentucky CCI4* in 2010.
The USEA would like to express great appreciation to Veterinarians: Catherine Kohn, VMD; Carol Clarke, DVM; and Ric Birk, DVM; as well as Human Cardiologists: Mark Hart, MD and Lynn Cronin, MD for the organization and participation in the USEA Equine Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research Study being held this upcoming weekend.
The USEA is also grateful to Red Hills and its organizers, Jane H. Barron, Terrie Brooks, and Marvin Mayer, for the use of the facilities and their cooperation in organizing the study.
Interested in supporting the USEA Cardiovascular Study? Donate online! Without the donations made by our members, not to mention the numerous hours donated by the USEA Equine Safety Task Force and the veterinary team, the USEA could not have undertaken this study. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who make this study possible. We hope that others will join in supporting the USEA’s efforts to protect our event horse and our sport.
