Uh-Oh, Otis!

Author Kelsey Merriam poses with her book, Uh-Oh, Otis.

The Off The Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) seems to be the latest trend in horse literature and the children’s book, Uh-Oh, Otis! recently joined the line-up. Uh-Oh, Otis! was written and illustrated by college student Kelsey Merriam and tells the story of Otis, a Thoroughbred who failed on the track and in various careers before finding his forever home.

The 25 page, full color book has large, easy to read font and would be great for the pony-loving first grader in your life.

A preview of Uh-Oh, Otis! is available on the author’s website as well as information on how to order the book.

About the Author

Kelsey caught the horse bug when she was barely old enough to walk and hasn't looked back since. Currently attending Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, she is pursuing a degree in Equestrian Studies, as well as minoring in Business Management and Literary Studies. She hopes to one day own a barn where she will rehabilitate and rehome mistreated horses.

Kelsey is happily owned by her Thoroughbred gelding, Felix; her cats Diamond, Lucy, and Ziggy; her dog Shiloh; and her two chickens, Winnie and Lola.

She would like to thank her parents for everything, her roommates for never letting her give up, her RMC Equine instructors for their constant support, and Susann Jones for providing the foundation upon which this book was built.
