HorseShow.com, a revolutionary online horse show network, announces the return of their free test ride judging service for all horses and riders qualified for the FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC) to be held in Lexington, KY, July 17-22, 2012. Due to the popularity of this program which supports America's next generation of top riders, this year HorseShow.com is expanding their service to include both dressage and eventing competitors.
Dressage riders who have qualified to represent their Region at the NAJYRC will have the opportunity to submit videos of their Junior or Young Rider Team and Individual Tests and receive a real-time voiceover commentary about their ride from international dressage judge Janet Foy. Since in this judging format the officials have the luxury of time and video playback, movements can be reviewed several times in order to give accurate scores and more thorough comments and feedback than may be possible in a live show. This free service is available until July 15 to help riders assess their readiness for the competition, fine-tune their skills, and receive expert feedback as to how they can improve their scores.
In the sport of eventing, the dressage test is becoming increasingly important in determining final results. Therefore, for the first time, HorseShow.com is expanding its free NAJYRC test ride service to include eventing competitors, who are invited to submit videos for free commentary and detailed feedback from international dressage judge and renowned eventing dressage coach, Natalie Lamping.
As an added bonus and in addition to HorseShow.com's free test ride service for NAJYRC dressage and eventing competitors, any Area or Region's Junior and/or Young Rider Team which submits at least three (3) videos from their respective team will receive $500 towards their team's NAJYRC expenses, courtesy of HorseShow.com.
Prior to last year's NAJYRC, riders from the Region 5 Junior Dressage Team submitted practice rides to HorseShow.com in an effort to improve their performance, and went on to win top individual placings and the Team Silver Medal. "It's like having a fresh set of eyes on your ride," said Region 5 member Devon Wycoff after the competition. "I looked at my scoresheet online and reviewed the scores and comments with my trainer. I really believe that the suggestions increased my Individual Test score by 3%." Team mate Brook Santangelo agreed. "The feedback you receive opens your eyes to other ways to do things, and truly gives you the judge's perspective on your ride for aspects you may not realize as a rider," she noted. "I appreciate how thorough the comments are, there was no wondering why a certain score was given for each movement. I will definitely use HorseShow.com's online service again."
