Seventeen wildfires have been blazing across California since Sunday night and to date have consumed 115,000 acres, 1,500 structures, and threatened the lives of thousands of humans and animals. California State Jerry Governor Brown has declared a state of emergency in Napa, Sonoma, Yuba, Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Nevada, and Orange counties. There are mandatory evacuations in place for several areas, and we've compiled some resources for those of you with four-legged family members in need of evacuation and shelter.
The Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa and the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma are sheltering large animals. More information about shelters can be found here.
If you need help with transportation, or have a trailer and are available to help evacuate, you can use the USEA Ride Share program.
