Area V is having a very special FUNdraiser to support the Area V 2013 Championships!

Riders in Area V that have declared Professional status with the USEA have been invited to compete in the 2013 Area V Pro Pony Challenge Friday evening, March 29, before the start of the March 30-31 Texas Rose Horse Park Horse Trials. We have a very generous offer from Kim Brunson of Brunson Equestrian Center located at the Texas Rose Horse Park (TRHP) in Tyler to provide ponies for a wonderful FUNdraising opportunity to support the Area V 2013 Championships, which will be hosted by Greenwood Farm in October. The Area V Council has set a goal to raise $5,000 for the Area V Championships, and you can help us reach that goal!

A Call to Action: Colorado Wildfires - Donate Now to the USEF Equine Disaster Relief Fund

Lexington, KY - Fires blazing across the Colorado landscape have together burned more than 100,000 acres in the past few weeks. The Waldo Canyon and High Park fires near Colorado Springs and Fort Collins respectively have ravaged the natural beauty of the area, destroyed nearby homes, and left many displaced people wondering what to do next. For horse owners that uncertainty is even greater.

Phillip Dutton Partners with Muscular Dystrophy Association

In anticipation of the 2012 eventing season, Phillip Dutton Eventing has introduced an innovative partnership. Phillip has joined forces with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and will make a donation to the Philadelphia chapter of the organization every time he wins a competition. "Our family has been touched by muscular dystrophy so we are looking forward to the opportunity to support this organization," said Phillip. "We hope our contribution throughout the season helps their research as they work to find a cure for this disease."

On February 26th, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. there will be a fundraiser for Allison Angove and her family held at Veterans Memorial Martinez, located at 930 Ward Street, in Martinez, California 94553. Tickets are $25 and tax deductible.

Lesley Long & Family Silent Auction

Friends of the Lesley Long Benefit Auction present… the Lesley Long & Family Silent Auction live, online bidding opens January 16th, noon ~ auction closes February 15th, 11pmLesley Long was an exemplary horsewoman in Carroll County, Maryland. Sadly, despite the high premium Lesley placed on handling horses safely, she passed away on December 14th, 2011 after sustaining a severe brain injury from being kicked by a startled horse three weeks earlier.
