Temecula, Calif., March 29, 2013—Kristi Nunnink and R-Star captured the overnight lead in the Adequan USEA Gold Cup & PRO Tour CIC3* at the Galway Downs International Horse Trials with a strong dressage performance and a double-clear show jumping round to score 47.3 penalties. Double-clean show jumping rounds were rare in all three international divisions today.

Temecula, Calif., - Riders from six states, Canada, Great Britain, Puerto Rico, Germany, Mexico, Australia and France are ready to go for $13,000 in prize money at this weekend’s Galway Downs International Horse Trials. Sixteen horses will be aiming for the $2,500 first prize in the featured CIC3*, and 48 more horses will be shooting for the top prizes in the CIC2* and the CIC1*.

Temecula, Calif., Nov. 4, 2012—Start calling James Alliston “Mr. Galway Downs.”The Galway Downs International Three-Day Event has offered a CCI3* for the last three years. Alliston finished third in 2010, finished first and seventh in 2011, and this year he finished first, second and sixth.Alliston, of Castro Valley, Calif., rode Tivoli to first place (53.4) Jumbo’s Jake, the horse he won with in 2011 and finished third with in 2010, to second place (56.6). And he also rode Parker to sixth place, one position higher than he finished in 2010 or in 2011.

Temecula, Calif., Nov. 3, 2012—James Alliston, who won the featured CCI3* at the Galway Downs International Three-Day Event in 2011, has jumped into first and second places after cross-country day at this year’s event.  With a faultless round on Tivoli, Alliston has taken over the lead (49.4), and by guiding Jumbo’s Jake, the horse he rode to victory last year, home just 2 seconds slow, he’s also taken over second place (52.6).

Temecula, Calif., Nov. 2, 2012—Michael Pollard, of Dalton, Ga., rode Schoensgreen Hanni to a narrow lead in the dressage phase of the CCI3* at the Galway Downs International Three-Day Event. Scoring 46.4 penalties, Pollard just eclipsed Phillip Dutton on Atlas (47.0). Hawley Bennett-Awad stands a close third on Five O’Clock Somewhere (48.2) and McKenna Shea is fourth on Landioso (48.4).

Temecula, Calif., Nov. 1, 2012—The Galway Downs International Three-Day event got underway this morning with the first horse inspection for the four divisions, followed by dressage for 30 of the 49 starters in the CCI1*. Competition continues on Friday with the completion of the CCI1* dressage, before all the horses in the training three-day event, the CCI2* and the featured CCI3* perform in the dressage ring.

Woodside, Calif. —James Alliston galloped to victory in the CIC3* at the Woodside International Horse Trials, presented by Equine Insurance of California and Professional’s Choice, for the second straight year, and this year he also galloped to victory in the CIC2*. On Tivoli (52.6) he claimed the CIC3*, and on Mojo (51.4) he claimed the CIC2*.Jolie Wentworth finished second in both the CIC3*, aboard GoodKnight (58.9), and in the CIC2*, aboard Man On A Mission II (55.7).  McKenna Shea rode Landioso to third place (69.6) in the CIC3*.

The Woodside International Horse Trials, presented by Equine Insurance of California and Professional’s Choice, will get underway on Friday, Oct. 5, with 37 horses starting in the three international divisions. The Woodside International Horse Trials are held at the Horse Park at Woodside.Dressage for the featured CIC3* starts at 12:30 p.m. and concludes at 2:00 p.m., before judges Wayne Quarles and Loris Henry of the USA. The 11 horses in the CIC3* —from the USA, Canada and Great Britain—will then show jump from 5:00 to approximately 5:25 p.m.
