Essex H.T. (Jun 2017) Omnibus Listing

After a 19 year break the Board of Directors for the Mars Essex Horse Trials, Inc. are proud to bring back this historic event to New Jersey and Area II. The venue has moved just down the road from the USET in Gladstone to beautiful Moorland Farm in Far Hills, NJ, a 230 acre estate,home of the grand steeplechase the Far Hills Race Meeting.

Comment: To better accommodate entrants in the upcoming Event, the following schedule changes are in effect as of June 7:
ALL Preliminary and Novice divisions will run, all phases, on Saturday, June 24.
ALL Training and Beginner Novice divisions will run, all phases on Sunday, June 25.
Additional entries will be accepted, not subject to late fees, through Friday, June 16.
If you have paid stabling fee (s) an no longer require stabling, please advise the Event Secretary, Rick Dunkerton ([email protected]).
Also, with the above schedule changes, stabling will now be available on a per night ($95.00) basis for Friday, June 23 and/or Saturday, June 24. Please direct inquiries to the Event Secretary.  

Accepting Post Entries through Friday, June 16th with no late fee.
The stabling fee is $195 for the event - Friday 10:00 am thru Sunday 4:00 pm.

Before C.D. a credit will be given less $25 non-refundable office fee; Withdrawals will not be honored unless faxed, e-mailed or mailed on or before C.D. NO PHONE WITHDRAWALS WILL BE ACCEPTED. After C.D. there will be no refund unless there is a waiting list. USEA Starter and D&M Fees Refund Policy: The USEA Starter and D&M fees ($21), are not subjected to office fees, and shall be returned within 30 days of the competition to any rider who does not start the dressage test.

After C.D.-Entry-no refund unless there is a waiting list. ANY entries (if space allows) or changes made to entry after C.D. will be charged $50 processing fee. No changes to entry starting Tuesday before the event. Competition cancellation-No refund. X-C Pinny/Holder/Insert Required. Copy of current negative Coggins within 12 months must accompany entry.

Prizes & 8 ribbons per division. Prize money for top three placement for all levels.
Temporary stabling:  $95/night Friday and/or Saturday.  10X10 Stalls with Doors. Overnight security on premises.$50 stall cleaning deposit is required by a separate check. Stalls must be stripped prior to leaving (check will be destroyed if stall is stripped).

Approximate distances. P-2800 m @ 520 mpm.  T-2300 m @ 470 mpm. N-2100 m @ 400 mpm. BN-1800 m @ 350 mpm.  All courses:  a true test for horses with some experience at these levels.  Cross-country courses closed: Always and is not open until 3:OO PM on June 23. All cross country courses will be irrigated and or aerated if needed. Competition staff will decide about irrigation/aeration weather pending.
Other Information:
Levels may be divided/combined as entries warrant; Please state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry.
There will be a prominent Farm-stand Food tent with 8 vendors on the grounds and a boutique marketplace with 30 vendors.
This is a country weekend for the community and advance tickets for spectators will be on sale for $10 through the website and 50 vendors in the area. Admission will be $20 at the gate for adults. Children under 16 are free as well as free parking. All competitors will be given 4 complimentary tickets with their entry.

Dogs must be leashed with human attached: $100 fine for loose dogs. 
No Motorized Vehicles.
