USEA Omnibus: The Event at Santa Fe (Aug 2012)


Due to Vesicular Stomatitis cases in New Mexico this summer, The Event will be enforcing horse entry and shipping requirements by New Mexico Livestock Board and NM State Veterinarian's office. The most current requirements can be found on the NM Livestock Board website: www.nmlbonline.com

FEH, NEH and YEH Classes - Friday, August 17th: Will be held at the Santa Fe Equestrian Center instead of Goose Downs Farm as originally stated. This is to help coaches be available to school their students at the Center on Friday. Also, we wish our YEH, FEH and NEH participants to have the oppoortunity to present their horse to a wider audience.

From I-25 North or South: Exit onto 599 (Santa Fe bypass) go North to Airoort Rd. Left on Airport for approx. 1 mi. The Santa Fe Equestrian Center is on the rt. The Entrance is beyond the Large Lava Rock.

From HWY 285: Exit on to 599 (Sanyta Fe bypass) go South to Airport Rd. Turn right on Airport. Same as above.

Cross Country opens–3pm.  Competitors Welcome Reception and briefing 3:00 to 5:00 at the Santa Fe Equestrian Center. 

Sat:  Dressage- 8:00am / Show Jumping – 10:00 am, at The Santa Fe Equestrian Center

Area X Adult Riders Cocktail Party 5:00-6:30 pm at the Trade Fair at the Santa Fe Equestrian Center

 

Sun: Cross-country – 9:00 am at Goose Downs Farm

Use of USEA XEntry welcomed. Double entries not accepted.  BN competitors who are not USEA members must pay extra $25 with entry.  Pre-Comp entrants are exempt from USEA Starter and Drug fees and USEA membership/non-membership fees. All other competitors must be USEA members. $25 office fee for each entry change after closing date.  Refunds:  Before closing date – less $25; After closing date – Entry less $25 ONLY if place can be filled from wait list.  Competition cancellation – Organizer's discretion. Negative Coggins drawn within 12 months of Event required for all horses.  Incomplete entries will be subject to a $25 fee!  Scratched entries in writing only (email prefered.)

Stabling/Veterinarian:

Stabling at The Santa Fe Equestrian Center, $125/stall, initial bedding, Thursday 12:00 through Monday 8 am.  Hay and Shavings on grounds. Tack stalls $125 for durtion Veterinarian:  Dr Andy Cameron 505-690-7623 on site /Thal Equine Hospital 505-438-6550.

 Santa Fe Lots of hotels, all price ranges in Santa Fe; however, The Santa Fe Indian Market is the same weekend as The Event, so please book your hotel early. Cross-Country:

Cross-Country:  I-2900m @550 mpm. P–3000m @ 520 mpm. T–2400m @ 450mpm, N–2000m @ 400mpm.  BN–2000m @ 350mpm.  PC - 1800m @ 300 mpm.  All courses: Average, for horses with some experience at these levels.  Goose Downs Farm is at 6,000 feet elevation. Courses are hilly, fit horse required.

Cross country course is closed August 11, 2012
The Santa Fe Equestrian Center,the new venue for Stabling, Dressage, Show Jumping and the Trade Fair, is 10 minutes from hotels and reataurants; 15 mins form Santa Fe's historic district. SFEC accomodates up to 600 horses. The arenas for dressage are permanent competition arenas. Show Jumping will be on the polo field. We look forward to introducing our new venue.

Goose Downs Farm is a fragile high-desert environment. No smoking, except in cars. Please check with secretary concerning motorized vehicles on course. We recycle, please help us. There will be ample water available at Goose Downs after Cross-Country. Cross-Country is 30 mins on good roads form the SFEC.

No limit to number of horses per rider. Levels may be combined or divided if entries warrant; state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry. 

Food and drink available on grounds. 

Dogs must be leashed.  Loose dogs caught and held for $50 ransom. 

Team Competition:  Teams of 3 to 4 members, best scores to count; all team members at same level.  Sign up before dressage - $5 per team member.

Competitors’ Welcome Reception – Fri afternoon at Equestrian Center - everyone invited.
