USEA Omnibus: The Maryland H.T. at Loch Moy Farm II (Jul 2012)

The Maryland Horse Trials is pleased to announce The Scooby Who and Cassidy Blue Remembrance Award presented by Rebecca Greene. This award goes to the “Off the Track Thoroughbred” with the lowest overall score in the Preliminary Level. In order to be considered for the award, the rider must declare the horse’s eligibility prior to the start of competition so that scores may be tracked. You can declare by emailing Mdhorsetrials@aol.com .

Entries:

PAPER NUMBER PINNIES WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR CROSS COUNTRY. RIDERS MUST BRING PINNY HOLDER WITH THEM. All entry fees must be in US funds; checks must be US checks or money orders from US banks; no foreign checks. All monies paid between July 4th and July 18th must be in form of money order/cash/cashiers check (no exceptions) Entry fees include a $25 non-refundable office fee. All BN competitors who are not USEA members must pay a $25 non-member fee. $50.00 will be charged for any returned checks. Any change to entry subject to $30 fee and must be in writing (fax, email or mail). Before C.D. - change of horse and/or rider and/or division allowed. After C.D. - change of horse or rider (not both) and/or division, space permitting. Absolutely no telephone withdrawals, changes or stabling requests will be accepted. ALL ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE PRINTED VALID EMAIL ADDRESS; ALL COMMUNICATIONS AFTER CLOSING DATE VIA EMAIL UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED ON ENTRY. Refunds: Before C.D.-Less $25 non-refundable office fee; After C.D.- No refunds. Competition cancellation-No refund. Neg. 12 month Coggins must be current through last day of competition and must accompany entry.  If space allows and post entries are accepted they will be charged an additional $50

Competitor Information
Awards:

Prizes & 8 ribbons per division. Other awards TBA during the competition.  Special prizes - High point series cash award, awarded for points accumulated by competitors entered in all 4 MDHT 2012 Recognized USEA Events. 

Stabling/Veterinarian:

54 permanent stalls in addition there will be 50 temporary stalls in the adjoining indoor enclosure, if warranted. $75 per night includes one bale of straw. STRAW BEDDING ONLY! Include a SEPARATE $50 check muck deposit. Competitors wishing to stay for the week must make arrangements through secretary. Bedding/Hay available for purchase ONLY if preordered on stabling form. Limited # of electric (only) hook-ups around stabling, $40/night.

Veterinarian: # at Secretary's stand. Farrier - Josh Eggink (301-418-1237) will be on the grounds.

Dressage:

Test & arena sizes: All P-2010 USEF Preliminary Test A-Sm. All T-2010 USEF Training Test A-Sm. All N-2010 USEF Novice Test A-Sm. BN-2010 USEF Beginner Novice Test A-Sm. Dressage Arenas: all-weather footing.

Cross-Country:

All P-2600 m @ 520 mpm. All T-2400 m @ 420 mpm. All N-2000 m 350 mpm. All BN-1600 m @ 325. mpm.  Footing is old established turf, good footing that will be aggravated and watered. BN/N Rolling terrain. Good confidence building and educational courses. Courses will be different from week 1.  T/P Less difficult than week 1, Rolling terrain, Good confidence building and educational courses. Courses will be different with the idea of good move up courses for confident horse rider combinations.  SJ and Dressage Arenas: all-weather footing.

Other Information:

New additions, new larger water jump, tracks and features to the xctry course for 2012. Competition Cross-country course open for schooling for the week of July 16. 10a – 6 p. weather permitting. Cross-country schooling course open daily by appointment (301) 514-0111. See website for details www.themarylandhorsetrials.com  Wine & cheese party each event day for competitors and volunteers. All dogs must be leashed per USEF rule GR 301.6. Failure to comply may result in elimination and $100 fine. No dogs on course. Concessions available on grounds. No motorized vehicles on course. Water on grounds but it is advised to bring your own. Non-competing horses require Neg. 12 month Coggins through last day of event.

DOGS: As much as we love dogs, we would prefer you leave them at home. If however you must bring them along, the USEF rule GR1301.6 will be STRICHTLY ENFORCED. There will be a $75 fine for any dog not on a leash at any time during the weekend and the owner may be asked to leave the grounds. Due to an unfortunate incident we must enforce this policy… and besides, it IS the rule at a recognized USEF competition! GR 1301.6. Dogs are not permitted to be loose on competition grounds and must be on a leash or otherwise contained. Individuals must not lead dogs on a leash while mounted. Dog owners are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from their dogs’ behaviors. Dog owners failing to comply with this rule may be subject to penalty under Chapters 6 and 7, as well as issuance of warning cards.
