"The FÉDÉRATION EQUESTRE INTERNATIONALE (FEI) is the sole controlling authority for all international events in Dressage, Para-Equestrian Dressage, Jumping, Eventing, Driving, Para-Equestrian Driving, Endurance, Vaulting and Reining. It is an umbrella organization that works in conjunction with the National Federations of each member country to regulate and govern the equestrian disciplines named above. Membership in the FEI is open to the one national governing body from any country which is effectively in control of or is in a position to effectively control at least the Olympic Equestrian Disciplines, and preferably recognized by its National Olympic Committee."

Lexington, KY- The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is pleased to announce that 19 USEF eventing competitions have been approved by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) as Targeted CNs. The approval of FEI Targeted CNs comes in response to concerns voiced by National Federations to the FEI regarding Eventing Rules that went into effect January 1, 2013.

Eventing moved a step nearer to achieving an international vision for the sport when National Safety Officers (NSOs) from 22 nations were able to pool ideas and experiences at their sixth annual Risk Management Seminar, which was hosted by the Italian Equestrian Federation in Rome on 26 and 27 January.

The Canadian bid team hoping to host the FEI World Equestrian Games™ in 2018, will present to the FEI Evaluation Commission next month as part of the bid process prior to a final decision on the host city in June. Canada has nominated Bromont, which staged the equestrian events for the 1976 Olympic Games, as the venue for 2018.

Lexington, KY - Due to significant changes and reformatting of the FEI Eventing Rules in 2013, the USEF Eventing Department has sought to clarify and explain these revamped rules. Among the most significant changes are the FEI Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MERs) for horses and athletes.
