Entry:

  • $125 Per Division  (BN riders not USEA members please additional $25 non-member fee)
  • USEA starter and drug fee to be added to entry fee, see entry form for amounts
  • Pinney Deposit: $ 10.00 (separate check)
  • Double Entries: $ 10.00
  • Stabling: $ 50.00 for the duration (3 nights maximum)
  • Stall Cleaning Deposit: $ 25.00 (separate check)
  • Competitors Party: $ 10.00 (additional tickets; competitors free)
1. Entries:
  • Pinney Deposit, $10.00; separate check with entry. Deposit check returned when pinney is returned.
  • Refunds: Before C.D..-Entry and Stabling fee refunded in full; After C.D.Less $25 only if place can be filled from a wait list. Competition cancellation-No refund. Any changes made to entry after C.D. will be assessed a $25 processing fee per change.
  • Cancellations by phone accepted, please send copy of Veterinarian Certificate for refund. Neg. Coggins within 12 months required for all horses; must accompany entry (dated no later than 8/23/08).
  • Returned check fee $35.
2. Tentative Schedule:

Sat: Cross-country course opens-3 pm. Sun: Dressage-8 am; Show Jumping-10 am; Cross-country-Noon.

3. Awards:

Trophy & 8 ribbons per division.  Cash prizes: 1st - $100, 2nd - $50 and 3rd - $25)

4. Starting Times:

Available from sec´y as of Thursday, June 25 by phone only between the hours of 6-9 pm or on the Area 1 website at www.area1usea.org. Postcards will not be sent.  However emails are sent - Please make sure your email address is legible on your entry.

5. Stabling/Veterinarian:

Limited on site stabling. $50 for the duration (3 night maximum). 30 temporary stalls on grounds; 50 permanent/temporary stalls approx. 0-10 miles from event, cost varies by location $25-$50/night.

$25 stall cleaning deposit required for all stabling - separate check made payable to Great Vista. Check destroyed if stall cleaned/cashed if not. Stall doors & 1 bag shaving provided. Feed/Bedding/Hay available for purchase; further info from sec´y or organizer. Veterinarian: # will be posted at sec´y´s stand & stabling.

7. Directions:

Address: 556 Paris Rd, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Route 90 (NY Thruway) to Exit 29 Canajoharie; at end of exit turn right on 5S. Stay on 5S in Fort Plain, follow truck route (take right at light, straight thru second light, at end turn right). Go up Sand Hill, near top of hill, turn left on Paris Rd. 1 mile to Farm on left. Look for large brown barn for secretary and information.  Watch for signage from thruway.

8. Dressage:

Test & arena sizes: T-2006 USEF Training Test A-Sm. N-2006 USEF Novice Test A-Sm. BN-2006 USEF Beginner Novice Test B-Sm. Arenas: All weather surface.

9. Cross-Country:

T-2000 m @ 450 mpm. N.-1900 m @ 400 mpm. BN.-1800 m @ 350 mpm. Terrain: Open field, rolling hills. All courses: Average, for horses with some experience at these levels.

10. Other Information:
  • Cross-country course always closed, except for Marcia Kulak clinic on June 6, 2009 and designated schooling days June 29-July 9 and by appointment only. See website for additional details.
  • Riders limited to 2 horses/level, or 4 horses/entire event. Levels may be divided/combined as entries warrant; state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry.
  • Food available on grounds.
  • Dogs must be leashed: loose dogs will be impounded; $50 loose dog fine.
  • Competitors Party: Great food, Saturday, 7-9 pm at Brown Barn. Competitors free, all others $10/person; please include with entry.
  • Small Trade Show with local vendors.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Champagne Run at the Park Horse Trials set to take place on July 10-11 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky has been cancelled. (May 17, 2010)
