Fees:
  • Event Fees Directory: See individual section for details. Draw checks to Middleburg Horse Trials. 
  • Entry: Per division: I: $190.00; P: $180.00; N: $170.00 (section 1) 
  • Grounds fee: $10.00 (non-stabled horses-section 1) 
  • Stabling: $75.00 (section 5) Extra night: $35.00 (section 5) Muck fee deposit: $50.00 (stabled horses; separate check-section 1 & 5)
1. Entries:
  • Entry fees include a $25 non-refundable office fee. 
  • All entry fees must be in US funds drawn on US banks or USPS money orders. 
  • Include printed, legible and current email address on entry. All correspondence from secretary will be by email. 
  • All entrants must be USEA members. All Intermediate & Preliminary riders and horse owners must be USEF members and include copies of their membership cards, or pay the $30 non-member fee. All horses must include USEA registration #. 
  • All entries must include copy of negative Coggins valid thru September 27, 2009. 
  • All entrants must include a signed Agreement of Release for Glenwood Park available on the website:www.middleburgorangecounty.ponyclub.org/mht/  All entrants under 21 must also include a Minor's Release available on the website. 
  • For all stabled horses, include separate $50 check for returnable muck fee for each stall requested. 
  • For all ship-ins, include grounds fee of $10 per horse.
  • Incomplete entries will be put on a wait list until complete. 
  • Entries postmarked on or after closing date must include additional $25 office fee. After closing date incomplete entries will be charged additional $25 fee. Check status of entry online at: www.middleburgorangecounty.ponyclub.org/mht/ 
  • $25 charge for any changes for level, horse, or rider after C.D. 
  • $50 charge for lost pinney, no deposit required. 
  • $25 charge for returned checks. 
  • Double entries: Not accepted. 
  • Refunds: Before C.D.: Less $25 non-refundable office fee, except entries postmarked August 11-13. After C.D.- Entry: $50 refund only if place can be filled from wait list. Stable: $50 refund only if place can be filled from wait list. NO refunds after Sept. 19. Scratches should be sent to the secretary by fax, email or US Mail. Scratches NOT accepted by phone. 
  • Competition cancellation-No refund.
2. Tentative Schedule:

Fri: Cross-country course open-3 pm. Show Jumping course open-4 pm. Sat: Dressage (I/P/N)-8 am. Show Jumping (I/P)-9:30 am. Sun: Cross-country (P/I/N)-8 am. Show Jumping (N)-Noon.

3. Awards:

For I/P:Trophy, 6 ribbons per division & prize money paid by check at event. For N: Trophy, 8 ribbons per division and certificates toward next year's entry. Product awards at all levels by Sponsors: VitaFlex Nutrition, Nutramax Laboratories, Smartpak Equine, Cowboy Magic, & United Vet Equine. The Margaret M. Lee Perpetual Trophy to low score intermediate horse. The Tender Offer Perpetual Trophy to low score preliminary horse. $2 fee for mailing ribbons paid to secretary prior to leaving grounds.

5. Stabling/Veterinarian:
  • $75/stall Friday, Sept. 25, 9 am to Sunday, Sept. 27, 7 pm, $35 extra night. 84 permanent stalls on grounds. Stall doors/initial bedding only provided. 
  • Mandatory stall cards with rider's pertinent emergency information must be posted on stalls for night watchman. 
  • Competitors required to give separate $50 check as a refundable muck fee per stall with entry & stabling form. Stalls must be stripped & stall cards left on stall. Checks will be destroyed, if stalls are left clean. 
  • Limited access to trucks & trailers in barn areas.  
  • Feed/Hay/Shavings available for purchase onsite.

Address: Glenwood Park, 36800 Glenwood Park Lane off Foxcroft Road, Middleburg, VA 20117 From D.C: I-66 west to Rt. 50 west, to Middleburg. Right at only traffic light in Middleburg onto Rt. 626 (Madison St) Rt. 626 becomes Foxcroft Road at edge of town. Proceed 1.1 miles to Glenwood Park on the right, white stone pillars and sign welcome you to Glenwood Park. From Winchester I-81: Rt. 50 east to Middleburg. Left at only traffic light in Middleburg onto Rt. 626. As above. Google and Mapquest directions are incorrect.

8. Dressage:

Test & arena sizes: I-2006 USEF Intermediate Test A-Sm. P- 2006 USEF Preliminary Test A-Sm. N-2006 USEF Novice Test B-Sm. Arenas: Bluestone dust & sand mix rings, grass warm-up.

9. Cross-Country:

I-3200 m @ 550 mpm. P-2800 m @ 520 mpm. N-1750 m @ 375 mpm. Terrain: Open, rolling racecourse turf. Includes new water complex, bank, and coffin. All courses: Moderately difficult, for horses with experience at these levels.

10. Other Information:

Cross-country course always closed. Never open for schooling. Entry limit 245 horses. Riders limited to 3 horses/entire event if oversubscribed, but may send 1 additional entry with fees and all paperwork-mark preference of draw. Divisions further divided/ combined as entries warrant; state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry. Ship-ins please bring your own water, long distance to water in barns. Caterer on grounds for breakfast & lunch. Vendors on grounds during event. Photographers on site with mobile labs. No motorized vehicles on cross country course, except official vehicles. Dogs must be leashed per USEF rule GR 1301.6 and attached to a person or truck & trailer; $25 fine for loose dogs payable to Middleburg Humane Foundation.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Champagne Run at the Park Horse Trials set to take place on July 10-11 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky has been cancelled. (May 17, 2010)
