Wash Bishop 1955-2009

Washington D. Bishop of Middleburg, Virginia passed away on May 9^th, 2009.  Wash was born on September 25, 1955 and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a loving father to his daughter Annie and her husband Robert Onda.

In 1973 Wash move to Middleburg, VA to ride and train Three-Day Event horses. He was then invited to train with the United States Equestrian Team. He was a member of the 1980 Olympic Team, the 1995 European Championships  team, and on the 1996 Olympic short list.  He was not only a talented rider and competitor; he was an excellent teacher and coach who passed his knowledge and love of the sport on to his many students.

He is survived by his daughter Annie Bishop, son-in-law Robert Onda, his sisters Becky Johnson, Donna Rodgers and all of those who loved him.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 14^th, 4pm at Welbourne, 22314 Welbourne Farm Lane, Middleburg, VA .
